Custom cartography is essentially a blend of graphic design with more traditional cartography skills, resulting in the development of very attractive maps and building interior diagrams for print, signage and the World Wide Web.
The typical custom cartography firm has fewer than five employees, with a client base located within a 50 to 100 mile radius of company headquarters. Roughly 150 custom cartography firms are known to exist on the North American continent.
