This illustration was a very unique opportunity to draw not what "is" or "will be", as is our typical task at mapformation, but an opportunity to draw what used to be. Over the course of several weeks in the Summer of 2006, our firm worked to develop a view of a section of Galesburg, Illinois as it appeared in 1858. Artwork was created as a hand-rendered piece, then digitized into high-resolution .tif format for use in Adobe Photoshop and other "raster" illustration applications.
