History at mapformation, LLC:
Paul joined the mapformation team in October 2009, after spending many years working in a handful of design studios and working for himself. He brings with him a tremendous set of skills, an excellent working knowledge of FormZ as his primary modeling application, and Electric Image Universe for animation. Paul also uses Sketchup, Bryce and Poser as supporting programs, in addition to Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe design products.

Personal Profile:
Paul is the Father of two children and two grandchildren, and currently resides in South Carolina with his wife...operating his design studio out of his home. After college, Paul worked as a graphic designer with Cook Ruef & Associates Advertising. Paul then moved to Atlanta, Georgia and started as an apprentice with the graphics studio of Janousek & Kuelh . The studio specialized in high end Retouching and Illustration using both airbrush techniques as well as chemical methods on Kodak Dye Transfer Prints. He later left the studio in 1979 as the Senior Staff Artist and started his own studio in Columbia, SC servicing the Advertising, Printing and Photography Industry providing retouching and illustration.

In 1994, he hung up the airbrushes and went Digital with Macintosh computers. Paul formed the company Digital River using two Howtek Laser Drum Scanners and an Imagesetter and provided high-end imaging services for the next eight years. Paul began employing 3D software technologies in the late nineties and began to develop advanced 3D map rendering techniques.

When Paul isn't working, he enjoys oil and watercolor painting (when time allows), as well as running with his three Basset Hounds and Rusty the Red Heeler.
