Bowdoin College is an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational residential, undergraduate liberal arts institution which enrolls approximately 1,700 students. Founded in 1794, it is located in Brunswick, Maine, a town of 21,000 on the Maine coast. The institution also operates its Coastal Studies Center, located eight miles from campus on 118 acres of Orr's Island.
Bowdoin became a client of mapformation in June 2008. After discussing potential campus map design projects for over one year, our firm was hired to develop a new 2D perspective campus map for the institution. Finished artwork was delivered in March 2010. mapformation was subsequently hired to produce a 3D perspective vector campus map illustration for the institution in the Summer of 2011 as well.
